Digitalization of conformity assessment – IAF/ILAC podcast
December 19, 2022
In the third episode of the IAF and ILAC‘s Accreditation Matters, IIOA Chief Executive Marcus Long leads a discussion on digitalization and conformity assessment.
This key issues are discussed with Associate Dean (Research), Professor in Supply Chain Management & Sustainability at the University of Canterbury Business School Pavel Castka and former IAF User Advisory Committee Chair Sheronda Jeffries.
The discussion builds on successful, mass implementation of remote techniques during the pandemic, but most crucially examines, ‘what next’.
Three reference points are made:
- Research based on the IAF/ILAC/ISO survey of remote techniques carried out in October 2021 with feedback from almost 4500 professionals who experienced or delivered remote audits, assessment or evaluations
- Ongoing research led by Pavel on the rate of technology change with conformity assessment bodies across various economies
- The 2022 IIOA paper ‘Transformative technology techniques’ which shows how parts of the conformity assessment community are using the rapid pandemic-led uptake of remote techniques to trial, test and introduce a range of new techniques.
The podcast is available Spotify, Apple Podcasts and Google Podcasts and as a video on YouTube.
