SGS announces ‘strong’ half year results

IIOA member SGS has announced its results for the first half of 2024.
Described as ‘strong’ results, turnover increased to 3,335m CHF, an 8% organic increase, 1.6% in real terms on H1 2023. The organic growth helped offset the -5.8% impact of currency.
SGS’ Business Assurance division saw an 7.8% organic growth, in turnover, ‘driven by certification and sustainability services, including social audits and ESG assurance’. Double-digit organic growth in Certification was supported by strong activity in strategic segments such as Medical Devices, Digital Trust and Food Assurance globally. Double-digit organic growth in Sustainability was driven by ESG assurance services and social audits’
For the second half of 2024, SGS anticipate, ‘Mid to high single-digit organic growth’.
